Frequently Asked Questions
How long does stairlift installation take?
Straight stairlifts are typically installed in 2-4 hours — often the same day as your consultation. Curved stairlifts require a custom rail that takes 4-6 weeks to manufacture, then installation takes 4-6 hours.
What happens during a power outage?
All Bruno stairlifts run on battery power that continuously charges while on the rail. During a power outage, your stairlift will continue to operate normally.
How much space does a stairlift take up?
Bruno stairlifts use a vertical rail design that installs within 5-7.5 inches of the wall (depending on model). When not in use, the seat, arms, and footrest fold up to leave maximum stair space for other household members.
Will a stairlift damage my stairs or walls?
The rail mounts to the stair treads (not the wall), leaving your walls untouched. The mounting points can be filled and refinished if the stairlift is ever removed.
What's included in the warranty?
Bruno indoor stairlifts include a Lifetime Warranty on major components (motor, gearbox, drivetrain, and rail) plus a 2-Year Warranty on all other parts. Outdoor models have a 5-Year Warranty. We also provide 30 days of labor coverage.
Why are curved stairlifts more expensive?
Each curved rail is custom-manufactured by hand in Wisconsin to precisely fit your specific staircase. This process takes 4-6 weeks and involves skilled craftsmen. Bruno is the only manufacturer that handcrafts curved rails in the USA.
